Vizio delivers its $299 Android tablet to people that don’t shop at Costco

Vizio’s Andrid tablet is now available at retailers nationwide for only $299

Vizio has announced that its 8-inch Android-powered tablet is now available at retailers nationwide for the rock-bottom price of $299.

These retailers include Walmart, Amazon, Sam’s Club and more, Daily Tech reports.

As Engadget notes, you might have been able to score one previously at Costco if you were fortunate enough to live near one and sensible enough to have a membership.

Seriously, get one if you haven’t already – Costco is awesome. But I digress.

Specs on the Vizio tablet include an 8-inch 1024×728 pixel display, a 1GHz Marvell processor, 512 MB of RAM, 2GB of storage (32GB max), front-facing camera and Android 2.3.2 Gingerbread.

The tablet also includes a built-in IR blaster and an app that turns your tablet into a universal remote.

Obviously, the Vizio tablet isn’t the most powerful bit of hardware on the block – but it’s hard to argue with the price. It’s an Android tablet that’s even cheaper than the webOS-powered HP Touchpad.

In the end though, this is probably something left to the Android-curious as opposed to the Android serious.
