Sprint launches its version of the BlackBerry Bold 9930 and shaves $50 off the asking price online

Sprint has officially launched the BlackBerry Bold 9930, immediately dropping the price online to $199.99.

As BGR porints out, this development comes only days after Sprint announced it would charge customers the full $249.99 for the device, like Verizon did. if that wasn’t bad enough, T-Mobile’s 4G version is going for a whopping $299.99.

Specs on the Bold 9930 include:2.8-inch touchscreen display (640 x 480), full QWERTY keyboard with trackpad navigation, 1.2 GHz processor, 5-megapixel camera with flash and 720p HD video recording capabilities and RIM’s new BlackBerry 7 OS.

Looking that those specs, it seems that sometime between then and now Sprint realized that the phone was overpriced when compared to dual core Android monsters like the Galaxy S II. And, of course, the release of the iPhone 5 is looming on the horizon.

There’s no telling how long the deal will last, so if you are interested, head on over to Sprint. However, we would expect the price to drop even more significantly over the next few months.
