Music Unlimited is a subscription-based service that provides access to more than 7 million songs on Sony’s Qriocity network
Sony’s Music Unlimited Android app, powered by their Qriocity media service, has silently launched on the Android Market.
Packing 7 million songs, the new application offers access to a wide variety of songs as well as “personalized channels that adapt to your music tastes and mood.” Music Unlimited even offers a scan-and-match service for your music that is similar to the one iTunes Match will offer upon its eventual release.
While the app itself is free, accessing Music Unlimited is not. New users can sign up for a free 30-day trial. Subscription plans start at $3.99 though for the basic plan, which permits users to only stream their own content, and move backwards and forwards on the pre-determined playlists.
The price jumps to $9.99 per month for the premium plan, which permits full access to manually creating playlists and searching through the extensive library. With premium you can also access channels organized by genre, moods, artists and more. Definitely a solid competitor to Rhapsody, Spotify, and others.
The Music Unlimited app is available to download from the Android Market and is free. Overall, it’s quite good and definitely worth a look.
Streaming music fans will not be dissapointed.
