RIM announces the entry level BlackBerry Curve 9350, 9360 and 9370 smartphones with BlackBerry OS 7
RIM has officially unveiled the long awaited BlackBerry Curve 9350 and 9360/9370 variants with the BlackBerry OS 7 on board.
The 9350 will be available for a reasonable $80 when it hits Sprint on September 9th, Engadget reports.
That price is in sharp contrast to other RIM devices launched this week, like the $249.99 BlackBerry Bold and its $299.99 4G version on T-Mobile.
RIM also announced the BlackBerry Torch 9810, 9850, and 9860 earlier this month for $149.99.
Of course, we’re talking about entry level BlackBerry OS 7 devices here, with a measly 800MHz CPU, 512MB RAM, 2.44-inch HVGA+ (480×360 pixel) display, a five megapixel camera (with LED flash and VGA video recording), NFC on board and a super slim design.
PC Magazine points the differences between the three devices:
The Curve 9350 is a CDMA device, the 9360 has EDGE/HSDPA connectivity, and the 9370 has CDMA/EVDO and EDGE connectivity. In addition, the 9350 and 9360 have 512MB of RAM and 512MB of storage, while the 9370 has 512MB of RAM and 1GB of storage.
According to the press release, the BlackBerry Curve 9350, 9360 and 9370 smartphones “are expected to be available from carriers in Canada this month and from other carriers around the world beginning in September”.
