Nokia 5233 Touch Screen Mobile Phone Review

Nokia announced the launch of the 523x series phones in 2010, these phones are touch screen phones, the most distinguishing feature between Nokia 5230 and 5233 is that the latter has no GPS. The price of this phone is comparatively less when compared with other brand touch phones with same features. In India this phone comes at a price of Rs. 7800 or even less which is equivalent to $175 US.

Let us see some of the features of this phone,

Camera:
This had got a 2MP camera with about 4x digital zoom and other image capture features like , night mode, landscape orientation , white balance etc. Video capturing at 30 fps with a size of 640 x 460 pixel resolution in .mpeg format.

Display:
The display of this phone is 3.2 inch with 16M colors, its TFT touch screen.

Memory:
It has internal memory of 70 MB and is expandable up to 16 GB, with hot swappable Micro SD memory card slot.

Music player:
Nokia music player that supports music formats like .mp3, .wav, .AAC, .AAC+ , .wmv and some other formats. Equalizer support with custom equalization. Supports play-list creation. Plays polyphonic ringtones and also supports video ringtones. Also has a FM radio with RDS.

Internet & Browsing:
Supports internet browsing through Nokia web browser, GPRS, EDGE supported. E-mail supported through POP3, SMTP & IMAP4 etc. Instant messaging support for IM lovers.

Gaming:
Supports external games with a inbuilt game Roller coaster.

Personalization:
Custom profiles with flight mode. Third party themes and softwares can be installed.

Navigation:
Nokia Maps inbuilt which will help in navigation. It can also be used for positioning if connected to a external GPS antenna through bluetooth or other media.

Hardware:
Has external keys for volume, camera, zoom, power.

Special features:
External SIM card slot. External memory card slot. Special multi-media button. Proximity detector that helps in undesired touch while on call. Nokia Maps. Accelerometer that helps in auto orientation. 3.5 mm AV connector, ear phone connector.

Good processor.
Good battery life.
Value for money.

Con’s
Bulky handset not sleek.
Lower resolution camera.
No file manager for music.
Difficult to use.
