Sporting a dual-core Tegra 2 processor, the Verizon Droid 3 could be launching as soon as this month
We’ve seen plenty of leaked shots of the Motorola Droid 3 these past few months, but now, thanks to xda.cn, we get a shot of the clearest one yet.
Rumored to be launcing on Verizon, specs and images of the Droid 3 originally leaked way back in March. With this latest leak, however, it’s becoming more and more clear that the phone will be nearly identical in looks to the Droid 2. The good news is there’s a tremendous spec boost and it will probably follow the same path as the popular Droid X2.
For those in the dark here, the Droid 3 should sport a 4-inch display with 960 x 540 qHD resolution, a dual-core processor, HDMI-out, and an 8-megapixel camera that’s capable of recording 1080p video. The device will also have a new five-row keyboard and launch with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and Verizon’s version of Motoblur.
Like the Droid X2, the Droid 3 will not feature LTE – something many consumers will find disappointing. For most normal users though, the lack of 4G shouldn’t be a deal breaker.
Knowing the Droid 3 was rumored to launch sometime in June, we should hear more about this device very soon.
