I Just got a new computer (Acer Windows Vista) And my microphone wont work in my yahoo messenger. My Computer came with a built in microphone. Is it because yahoo messenger hasnt been up to date yet because i think yahoo messneger only does the voice for 98/2000/xp and since my computer is the newest windows edition is that the reason my mic. wont work??

hi, sorry i dont have the answer as i have the same problem. I sw yours and wanted to ask you to email the answer when u recieve it. I am on new 7-06 HP Pavillion dv 8000. I have been using yahoo chat, voice calls, comp calls, and conference calls with no problems until recently when i burned a CD in windows media center. Afterwards I went back to yahoo chat and was unable to be heard by my friends as usual. I could hear them but they no longer heard me. I need help with this too. thanks for any help you can give. I don’t use Vista, I use XP, but when I upgraded messenger last year I had to use the “options” to setup my “audio and video” for the mic to work. I had to reset the volume so that they could hear me. I don’t have a built-in mic, but I use just a headphone in the mic jack and it works fine.
