HTC’s long rumored 10-inch Honeycomb tablet, codenamed the HTC Puccini, may be hitting AT&T shelves very soon
Looks like an LTE variant of the long-rumored HTC Puccini tablet has just been certified by the FCC.
According to FCC documents obtained today by Wireless Goodness, the 10-inch Puccini will be compatible with 700MHz and AWS bands here in North America. With AWS there, the Puccini seems like a lock on AT&T here in the U.S, and perhaps Videotron in Canada.
Sporting a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, the Puccini will be HTC’s first ever 10.1-inch Honeycomb tablet. Depending on the release date, the Puccini could launch with Ice Cream Sandwhich and will definitely launch with Android 3.2 Honeycomb at the very least. Other specifications include a 1,280×720-pixel display and up to 2GB internal memory.
Regardless of version, the OS should include support for Google’s Android movie rental service, Adobe Flash Player 10.2 support, support for USB-connected devices, and resizable home screen widgets.
At this point it is not a definite that the device will come to AT&T, it just seems likely because of the radio. It’s completely possible, of course, that the device won’t launch at all in the U.S. and head straight to Canada.
Neither HTC nor AT&T has released any information about the tablet so far, but today’s filing suggests the device will launch in the next couple of months. I guess all we can do now is wait and see.
