How can I tell if my phone is able to run android apps?

I have a samsung delve r800. I can give more information listed in “phone info” or elsewhere in the menu if needed. I’ve read some phones can run android applications/games without being an android phone. Is there any way to tell? Also, is there any way to put software on the phone?

I am not sure that is the case….Currently, you have to have an android phone to run android software.
