Similar to the HTML5 web app, Google+ for iPhone includes Circles, your stream from contacts, and Huddle group messaging
It’s been a long time coming, but Apple has finally approved the official Google+ app for iPhone.
The software is now live in the App Store, and you can download the app for free right now.
While the Android app was available on day one, the Google+ iPhone app had remained in review for a few weeks.
Until now, iPhone users have had to access a feature-lacking mobile version of Google+ in Safari. Trust me when I say that the official iOS app is much much better.
Like the Android version, the iOS app lets users monitor their stream of posts, the “incoming” posts from people who follow them, and nearby posts from those who are geographically close by.
Google+ for iPhone also lets people publish to specific circles as well as group chat with buddies via Huddle.
All in all it has the same functionality that the Android app has. Nothing more and nothing less.
So far, the Google+ social network appears to be a fantastic effort, but only time will tell if it truly gains traction – especially on Apple’s mobile platform.
