The hugely popular Tower Defense game for iOS is now available in the Android Market and Amazon Appstore

One of iOS’s most popular games, Fieldrunners HD, has finally made its way onto Android.

Up until now, Fieldrunners HD has appeared on pretty much every other platform, but the appearance on Android is definitely a relief to many clamoring for the game. Besides Plants vs Zombies, Fieldrunners HD has probably been the most requested games since Android launched way back in 2008.

Overall, gamplay is simple. You’ve got waves of enemies streaming into the screen via portals around the edges of the map. You must set up a system of towers to destroy these enemies before they infiltrate your base.

You start the game with a small bank account that limits the number of towers you can purchase, but each kill drops some coins into your purse. With the extra cash, you can either buy more towers or upgrade your existing ones to increase their deadly power. Good stuff.

Fieldrunners HD is free today in the Amazon Appstore but costs $.99 in the Android Market. The game will retail for $2.99 after that. Not bad considering the high level gameplay. Definitely worth it.

With HD graphics, more than 400 levels, and several battle fields, Fieldrunners HD is certainly worth checking out.
