IOS 5.0.1 is now available after a process of internal testing, as well as Beta version. As promised, the update provides improved battery drain and other tweaks and enhancements.
iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users connect their device to iTunes will be greeted by a dialog saying that ‘IOS 5.0.1 Software Update’ is available for download, followed by the official release notes.
According to the company is headquartered at 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, Calif. IOS 5.0.1 contains “bug fixes and other improvements, including:
• Bug fixes that affect battery life
• Adding Multitasking Gestures for iPad original
• Completing a bug with documents in the Clouds
• Improve voice recognition for Australian users by using dictation
With the usual way, separate IPSW file will be presented to the owners of the iPhone 4S,, iPhone 4 iPhone 3G, iPad 2, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation), and iPod touch (generation 3).
Apple says there are security fixes included in this update as well, but have not updated the iPhone maker Security Update page (at the time of this writing) with patches documented in the IOS 5.0.1.
A security fix has been known to make its way in IOS 5.0.1 target vulnerability ‘Smart Cover’ on the iPad 2 tablets.
