Review HTC Jetstream Android with Dual-core Processor

By , 12 October, 2011, No Comment

HTC Jetstream is an android tablet with 10 inch screen, is equipped Dual-CoreProcessor 1.5 GHz aQualcomm MSM8660. On sale for $ 700 USD

Hardware

This device uses the highest quality device in tablet technology in the market this time. Equipped with a micro USB port and headphone jack at the bottom of the above, you DO get a full-sized SIM card slot and a microSD card slot under theribbed plastic cover Surrounding the back-facing 8-megapixel camera anddual-LED flash.

* What’s not made entirely cleared in the advertisements for this Is that the a microUSB the device at the bottom of the device is enabled SFM, That thismeaning if you’ve got an SFM convert cord, you can video outputs to HDMI. On the other hand, the video that’s output is surprisingly low quality, and compared to whatwe’ve seen with past straight-through HDMI ports (like on the Motorola Xoom, forexample) and the SFM HDMI functionality on the Galaxy S II, The Jetstream it Really does not add up. It’s nice to know that the port is there, on the other of Hand, just incase you’d like to use it.

HTC Jetstream mostly made of metal and glass, it makes us want to compare with the Acer Iconia Tab A501. Different from the iPad 2″ Jetstream dare to add someshape to the front and the back of the device, not only with a minimalist form. Thesame is true about the HTC-modified software inside, as well, Android Honeycombstill looking very similar to its original form as seen in ouroriginal Android 3.0Honeycomb review on the Xoom.

Certainly this is not the lightest tablet tablet in the pack, but just by holding the original Xoom Carried by the Verizon in one of Hand and the Jetstream in the other, I’ve got to say it does not feel like the heaviest, either. The Jetstream alsodoes not seem to be going for the thinness awards either, with its thickest pointrivaled only by the massive Thrive Toshiba tablet. That said, again, the grip is very nice, and this is as high-quality craftsmanship and as you’ll see on the HTC the device.

Over we go on, check out the videos and hands-on exploration filmed by yourhumble narrator here, and get to know your tablet inside and out:

Hands-on Exploration

Software

With this tablet you’ll get your first Glimpse of the HTC Sense for tablets. The HTCFlyer got a new look at Sense (new at the time, that is), but this was only running onAndroid 2.3 Gingerbread and was not specifically tailored for tablets working withanything larger than That the device‘s 7-inch display. Here we get what HTCconsiders the ideal environment on Android tablets. You’ll find it Engaging And thatit feels like home to you HTC lovers out there, but right from the outset there doesnot seem to be oddities A Few That We Hope Will Be Rectified with an update.

The first is the hoop ODDITY Unlock the screen. While it’s fun to use this ring from the bottom of the screen on a handset, it’s fun Because you can work with it with asingle thumb. Here instead, the ring right in the center of 10-inches of display,you’ve got to either stretch your of Hand out quite a bit OR simply hold the device with one of Hand while the other does the work. Google Rectified this problem PlsThey first released Honeycomb by Placing the lock on the right-hand side of thedisplay Pls held in landscape mode. HTC, it would be much Easier and moreconvenient to unlock this device if the ring were the resource persons set along the right-hand side of the display, regardless of if the tablet is sitting in portrait orlandscape mode.

A set of apps sits inside this device, a full list of the which you can get from viewingthe hands-on video above, that you’ve seen in many AT & T or HTC devicesbefore. One of Those apps is Footprints, an app That encourages you to tap andrecord your location as you travel through the city, through the forest, or cross-country event. This app alone is indicative of what the HTC intends you to use thisthe device for: everything.

The change the between having a tablet That was Meant for pulling out only at adesk or tablets and tablet That was Meant for use anytime Happened Pls see the original Tab Galaxy, the first large-release tablets Android, was released. It had acamera on the back of it, and We used it all the time! Oh We did not? That‘sBecause since cameras were the resource persons introduced on a tablet-sizedmobile devices, there‘s never been a camera worth using until now. They’veessentially been junk, or at least compared to junk That smartphones were the resource persons capable of - but the Jetstream spits in the face of That legacyand jams a full 8-megapixel 1080p back-facing camera in your face, capable ofwonderful Things, Certainly plus a decent 1.3-megapixel camera on the front that’snot half bad.

Camera

This camera combo, but ESPECIALLY the back-facing camera, makes this tabletUniquely Able to act as a media the device that’s a decent collection. As I’veMentioned before and I’ll mention again, tablets have gotten a terrible rep for Theirlow-grade cameras, turning off the whole first generation of tablet users not onlyBecause they’re Difficult and awkward to use, but Because They result in second-rate photos and videos. What you’ve got here with the most updated Nearly Boththe HTC camera interface and a full HD 1080p video and 8-megapixel cameracapable photo is a new vision.

Have a look at the photos and the videos below and compare to every other tableton the market today. Here the HTC Jetstream is the cleared victor, hands down.

Benchmarks

What you’re working with here is the Qualcomm MSM8660 1.5 GHz dual-coreprocessor, one Certainly that’s been waited on for a while, and it does not seemhere to disappoint. Check the stats, see how this device does not pin down thecompetition in every category, but notice how well it does against the currentchampion, the Galaxy S II, ESPECIALLY in CF-Bench. Can not wait for the hacksand overclocks on this processor!

Also check out the speed tests – AT&T LTE, is that you? Not quite, not here in Minnesota, at least. But the icon is there!

Battery

The battery on this device is a non-removable 7300 mAh, That this meaningBasically whatever you’re doing this the the device, you’ll have more than a day‘suse. In fact, at this very moment we’re at over 24 hours use with the tablet and stillhave 48% left, and that’s using the AT & T data on the the device - you’ll see in theimage below That the tablet has been on for 3 days and only a TINY bit of charging, less than a couple of hours, and we’re good to go at least for another half-day withheavy usage.

Wrap-Up

It is, again, unfortunate That Will this tablet cost you seven bills. If you take away the price, on the other of Hand, you’ve got one of the nicest Android tablets on themarket, complete with the most comprehensive and well-done user interfaceplaced over yet Honeycomb Android - HTC‘s Sense is always welcome in devicesin my house, as it were the resource persons. If only this were the resource personsan alternate universe and the work and materials That went into this project were the resource persons sourced inexpensively, We’d have the $ 400 tablet of ourdreams.

As it is, what you’ve got here is a tablet That Might not survive the winter. I’llcontinue to express my remorse over the pricing until the price is droppedBecause I Certainly do not want this piece of hardware Togo the way of theTouchPad, even IF That would mean Could We see then the greatest $ 100Android the device of all time. HTC Jetstream, you beautiful metal machine you,You Were Born at a strange time.
