The BlackBerry Bold 9930 is now available online from Verizon for $249.99

The BlackBerry Bold 9930 has officially been added to Verizon’s online store for $249.99 on contract.

So, if you are the impatient early adopter type, by all means grab it now. If you want to save a few bucks however, wait a week or two for the inevitable drop to $199.99 or less. If you wait a few months, it will probably be free.

There hasn’t been any world on when the BlackBerry Bold will be available in actual stores, but Engadget points to August 25th as the likely date.

Features on the BlackBerry Bold 9930 include a 2.8-inch touchscreen display (640 x 480), full QWERTY keyboard with trackpad navigation, 1.2 GHz processor, 5-megapixel camera with flash and 720p HD video recording capabilities and RIM’s new BlackBerry 7 OS.

We got a chance to test out the BlackBerry Bold 9930 for ourselves back in May and concluded that it was “fast, powerful and light, with good looks that should turn heads.”

However, in my opinion this is really more of the same from RIM – and that’s not a good thing. The hardware is not really up to snuff specs-wise when compared to the dual core beasts its compeitors are churning out – though you’ll have exclusive dibs on the BlackBerry 7 OS since there isn’t any legacy support.

Obviously, die-hard BlackBerry fans will be excited about the 9930, but RIM has to shake things up a bit more if they want to stop the bleeding.
