Browser War: Chrome 18,Firefox 11, Safari 5, IE9, Opera 11, Who’s Fastest?

Currently there are five of the most popular browser on the user’s computer or a Mac, they are Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari and Opera.

Some time ago had reported that Google Chrome has beat the market even though Internet Explorer is still debated. Google Chrome has now reached version 18.

Firefox, Mozilla open source browser has been popular among Windows users, Mac and Linux releases Firefox has now reached 11.

Apple Safari and Opera browser even though it was still less popular with 3 browsers above, but Apple’s Safari is the browser idol Apple Macintosh users, while Opera itself has many innovative features to the browser.

Many Internet users are wondering, where is the fastest of them? ZDNet benchmark or test on Chrome 18, Internet Explorer 9, Firefox 11, Opera 11 and Safari 5.

ZDNet perform the test using a computer-powered Intel Core2 Quad Q9300 2.5 GHz, 4GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 graphics with Windows 7 x64 operating system. How the results of tests performed? Consider the following graph:

Test results using SunSpider JavaScript 0.9.1 software (smaller is better) Internet Explorer 9 shows the lead, followed by Firefox 10 and Chrome 18 and Chrome 17, Firefox 11 and Opera 11 and Safari 5  while the lowest position.

SunSpider is a JavaScript execution speed testing software developed by Apple WebKit team. Surprisingly, although developed by a team of Apple, but Apple’s Safari browser instead occupy the last position.

In the test using the software V8 (the bigger the better), Chrome 18  lead followed by Firefox 11, Opera 11 and Safari 5, Internet Explorer 9 most distended position.

V8 JavaScript execution is a software tester developed by the Google team.

Subsequent testing using the Peacekeeper (the bigger the better), this software is not only to test the execution speed of JavaScript, but overall browser performance.

Test results using unexpected Peacekeeper, Chrome 17  loosing Chrome 18, Firefox 10 Firefox 11 beat, and again Internet Explorer 9 occupies the position of caretaker.

Last test using the software Kraken 1.1 (smaller is better), Kraken is a software tester JavaScript execution developed by Mozilla.

Test results using the software Kraken, Chrome shows keperkasaanya in the first position, followed by Firefox 11, Opera 11 and Apple Safari 5, Internet Explorer 9 re-occupy the position of caretaker.

In general, the tests performed was won by ZDNet Google’s browser, Chrome 18. The lowest position is occupied by Internet Explorer 9. Firefox 11 and Opera  11 show the performance is quite satisfactory. Safari 5 performance is also quite fast.
