HTC’s first U.S. device with Facebook integration will be launching exclusively on AT&T very soon

AT&T has officially announced the upcoming release of its first Facebook ppahone, the Status. Built by HTC, the Status is the brother of HTC’s own HTC ChaCha, which launched in Europe earlier this year.

Sporting a 2.6-inch 480×320 display, the HTC Status is powered by a single-core 800MHz Qualcomm processor and 512MB of RAM. The device also runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread out of the box and features HSPA, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a special Facebook touch button.

Overall, the HTC Status is a superb mid-range Android smartphone for those looking to test the Android waters. The keyboard and Facebook button alone make this phone quite desirable to alot of people.

Unfortunately, while AT&T announced the device would be coming soon, they failed to provide pricing, availability or even a release date.

That said, if this device is as popular as I expect (people seem to love Facebook, remember?), we will definitely hear a release date and hopefully some pricing soon. Watch this space.
