AT&T bringing Gingerbread to every postpaid Android phone released in 2011

AT&T

With AT&T having increasingly been loading up on Android devices, they’ve now taken the issue of software updates head on and have now reassured customers that all of their 2011 postpaid line-up of Android devices will indeed be upgraded to Gingerbread.

As we saw most recently, the Motorola Atrix 4G received it’s update in a somewhat timely manner and more devices such as the HTC Inspire 4G, Samsung Infuse 4G and Samsung Captivate will also get their updates when ready. The LG Phoenix and Pantech Crossover are in the mix, too.

Now, while we applaud AT&T for having so many devices that will eventually run Gingerbread, this announcement is pretty much a tooting of their own horn here. Most of the devices on their list were assumed to be getting Gingerbread at some point anyhow. Full press release can be found after the break.
