Toshiba 19AV600U 720p Portable LCD HDTV

Toshiba 19AV600U 19-Inch 720p Portable LCD HDTV, BlackI compared the picture quality of the Toshiba 19AV600U 720p Portable LCD HDTV side by side with Samsung (at our local Best Buy) after tweaking both to their maximum quality and the Toshiba had truer colors with accurate flesh tones, probably due to the 10 bit color. The sound was also much better (and louder) than other TV’s of the same size. If you can live without the headphone jack, then this will be a great choice, especially for a small bedroom or kitchen.

One more thing that impressed me and my daughter was how the TV cleaned up the standard analog cable channels, apparently due to the noise reduction feature, which we put on high. Some of the channels even look as good as digital or HD. The 19AV600U also has HDMI jacks and is a great looking little TV even when it’s off. We mostly buy SONY but was settling for Samsung (since Sony is not that impressive in this size range) until I ran across this little jewel.

Cell phone cancer warning to pop up in Maine

cancer
Who knew that a cellphone could cause so much panic and still remain more indispensable that a computer? It’s plain simple that we cannot live without phones, even though we have all these studies and statistics that point at cellphones being one of the causes for brain cancer amongst many. Andrea Bolan, who represents Maine is panic stricken herself, and makes sure that she uses the speaker of the phone rather than holding the handset precariously close to her head. Based on a bill submitted by her, the likely steps that will be taken may make it compulsory for manufacturers to put labels on phones and packaging, stating that the device they’re selling can cause brain cancer (because of electromagnetic radiation).

We will soon see small children and pregnant women kept away from cellphones because of the same reason. Motorola, who sell a hell lot of their phones across the globe have sought a clean chit on this issue, claiming that their handsets comply to all international safety standards. We will soon hear a lot more on the same from other popular manufacturers.

LG’s 4th Black Label Series Chocolate handset has a 4 inch display
lg-bl40-NEW-CHOCOLATELG pulled off the veil to flaunt the very intriguing 4th Black Label Series (BL40) Chocolate. The candy bar has a 4 inch HD-LCD that can support resolutions of up to 800×345 pixels. The 21:9 aspect ratio can pull out the true joy of widescreen viewing for you. To make it even more palatable, the display can magically divide itself into two independent desktops so that you can manage multiple tasks. Most Dual Screen UIs we’ve seen in the past never seemed as good. The screen’s HD brilliance brings to life all the images and games that it displays.

Everything said about the LG 4th Black Label Series Chocolate phone is about the screen. We hope to chance upon some of the finer, deeper details of the same. Till then, enjoy these images
